As part of the initial preparations for the future logistics hub, environmental test drilling is being carried out across the site. Geologists, engineers and drilling teams are collecting soil samples to gain a detailed understanding of the ground conditions and identify any potential contamination.
The work is being conducted by Dansk Miljørådgivning (DMR).
Using a mobile drilling rig, samples are being collected from more than 30 locations across the site, reaching depths of up to 15 metres in some areas. Up to 20 samples are taken from each location and subsequently sent for laboratory analysis.
These investigations represent one of the first steps in preparing the site for development and will help form the foundation for the continued planning and construction of Odense Dry Port.
Odense Dry Port is being developed as a key logistics hub with close links to the activities at the Port of Odense in Munkebo. The site will provide space for the storage and handling of components that support both existing and future value chains, particularly within the energy and heavy industry sectors.

The fieldwork is expected to be completed by 26 June.
